Location of glamping domes in Tennessee
When we were planning our Smoky Mountain family vacation, we knew we wanted to be near Gatlinburg and all the fun that’s offered there.
A search of properties brought up these glamping domes by Stay Minty. I knew immediately that this is where I wanted to book!
The domes are actually located in Cosby, Tennessee – about 20-30 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg, and about 10 minutes more to Pigeon Forge. It was a little further out than we thought we wanted, but it actually wasn’t bad at all, and definitely worth it for the unique experience!
These glamping domes in Tennessee are also only 3 miles from Smoky Mountain National Park.

The property is located in a forested, hilly area right alongside a stream. We stayed in Dome 8 – “Night Fever” which looked right over the stream. There are 7 other domes here, sleeping anywhere from 2 to 8 people.
Amenities offered in Night Fever dome:
Our vacation was near the end of November, over Thanksgiving break. Naturally, we were a little concerned about the heating situation in these glamping domes, being in the mountains of Tennessee.
Although the temperatures got down in the mid-30s, it never ended up being a problem. Our dome had a heater plus an electric fireplace and they also had heated blankets on the beds! We also spent a considerable amount of time warming up in the hot tub!

We also wondered about the drive there, but the steep driveway up to the property is actually heated! So even in winter, it isn’t an issue!
This particular glamping dome was one of the bigger spaces on the property, at 1059 sq. ft. (a 30-foot diameter.) The site says that the maximum occupancy is 6 guests.
It had 2 bedrooms – one with a king-size bed with a trundle, and a loft with 2 queen beds. The couches also flip into beds.

The kitchen has all the necessities (pots and pans, utensils, etc.), including a full-size fridge and dishwasher. However, there is no oven or stove – just a hotplate.
Other amenities in the Night Fever dome:
- Full-size fridge
- Dishwasher
- Hotplate
- Coffee machine
- Extra bedding
- Full bathroom with shower (including towels, toilet paper, shampoo & conditioner, soap, and a hair dryer)
- Private deck with hot tub, charcoal grill, and table with seating
- Fire pit in the yard with seating
- Record player
- Electric fireplace
Other things to note:
- No pets
- There is a community picnic area, lawn games, and a shared dumpster
- Wi-Fi is available at the shared pavilion
- Very limited cell service
- Reservations are non-refundable
- The dome is essentially a tent – expect bugs! (Although we didn’t see any in November!)
Really, the only negative thing we had to say about this particular dome was the parking situation. Firstly, it was little bit of a walk to the dome. This wasn’t really a problem for us, but if you have anyone who has trouble walking, know that the parking is up a hill and about 100 feet away from the dome.
The biggest problem we noticed was that the drive is gravel and on a hill, so we really were spinning out each time we tried to pull out. We heard the neighbors having the same issue several times. Nobody got stuck while we were there, so take that however you want!

Also, as I mentioned, the domes do not allow pets. I know that for a lot of families, that may be a deal breaker! If you’re looking for pet-friendly cabins around Gatlinburg, Tennessee, there are several other great options here! These options sleep anywhere from 4 to 20+ people, so there’s bound to be a great option for you!
Activities and attractions nearby
As I said earlier, the Smoky Mountain National Park is only 3 miles from this property. There are several beautiful must-do scenic drives to see the mountain landscapes and wildlife. There are also so many amazing hikes in the Smokies, featuring old cabins and churches, waterfalls, and beautiful views.
Downtown Gatlinburg, 22 miles away, has all the shops, restaurants, and entertainment you could possibly ask for. Some of our recommendations are walking the Sky Bridge, the treetop skywalk at Anakeesta, and Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies.

Pigeon Forge also isn’t far and has more shops, dining, and entertainment. Visiting Dollywood was a highlight of our winter trip.
If you’re up for an adventure, Dunn’s Creek offers Class III and IV whitewater rafting, only about 10 minutes away. There are also mountaintop zipline tours only minutes away.
For a really unique and fun experience, hike with llamas at the Smoky Mountain Llama Trek farm. This is something I really would love to do on our next trip!
Other activities include horseback riding, helicopter tours, live music events and dinner shows, off-roading, mountain biking, kayaking and tubing, and more.
Benefits of glamping domes compared to traditional camping
Glamping is a luxurious version of camping, where you can enjoy all the comforts of home, while still being immersed in nature. Unlike traditional camping, where you have to rough it out in a tent, glamping offers a more comfortable and convenient experience.
With glamping, you don’t have to worry about setting up a tent, sleeping on the ground, or cooking over a fire. Instead, you can relax in a comfortable bed, take a hot shower, and enjoy delicious meals prepared in an actual kitchen.
Glamping also allows you to stay warm and dry, regardless of the weather conditions outside. This means you can enjoy the great outdoors, without sacrificing comfort or convenience.

These innovative domes are made of high-quality materials and are designed to provide a comfortable camping experience. The domes are spacious, with plenty of room for everyone. Another thing to love about Glamp by Stay Minty – they’ve partnered with One Tree Planted, and for every stay, a tree is planted!
I also want to mention that the whole experience was so good. We received text messages telling us everything we needed to know, and any time I had a question, it was responded to immediately!
The place was amazingly clean, and there were so many little extras (like individual coffee pods, electric blankets, and vinyl records) that made it special!
